so we found ourselves yet again with a lovely big comfy bed!

The next morning we headed off into Berkeley, famous for its university and chilled out vibe! It also had a North Face Outlet store which we wanted to visit as the lava had taken it toll on our trousers and we were both in need of a new pair! It didn’t take long to get into Berkeley on the bus, we weren’t quite sure where to get off but we guessed anywhere near the university would do. It was a great place, buzzing with life and cheap cafes! After a quick bite to eat we were ready to head off and find the North Face Shop. After walking for what seemed like ages we found the shop and we delighted to find it was far bigger and better than the one at Cheshire Oaks! Wow the stuff here was cheap and we both could have spent a fortune but we were quite restrained and I managed to limit myself to a new pair of

pants and a top! Unfortunately Rob didn’t find anything in his size so left empty handed!

We’d spied a nice Thai restaurant on the way down to the shop and decided to eat there later on. The food was fantastic and it was nice to have a traditional Thai meal again. We were fairly tired by this point as we had done a lot of walking so we headed to the nearest bus stop and made our way back to Dom and Dina’s. Later that evening we watched ‘The Smartest Guys in the Room’ the film about the Enron scandal which was really interesting.

We had decided that we would like to actually stay in San Francisco for a few days and had booked ourselves into a hostel for 3 nights. This meant that we would be in San Francisco for the weekend and the World Cup final! We got the bus into the
