SAN FRANCISCO & AROUND
head back to Little Italy and watch the Italians celebrate in style. When we got back there the whole road was blocked off and the street was going crazy. They sure know how to celebrate, the
atmosphere was superb and we felt very privileged to be there helping them celebrate their win! We were there for most of the day just watching the world go by and hearing the endless victorious voices bellowing out how great Italy was!!! What a fantastic day, one which never of us will ever forget!

We were up and out fairly early on our last full day in the city. It was very foggy and for the first time we had seen the Golden Gate bridge shrouded in fog. Again most of the day was spent walking around this truly wonderful city. We walked up to Heights Ashbury, home to the swinging 60’s crowd. It

was a bit of a let down and looked like it had definitely seen better days. We then got the bus down through a park to the Exploratorium which had great views over the Golden Gate and a great park. After all of the days walking we were fairly tired so decided to buy a pizza and a bottle of wine and have
a chilled night in the hostel.

Our last morning in the hostel was spent checking stuff out on the internet and booking ourselves a car. We met Dina for lunch and then spent the afternoon browsing book shops as we were after a decent camping book. Dina had offered us a lift back to Alameda with her as we were going to be
spending the next 3 nights on their sailing yacht Nightingale.
